Doris Wong, O.D., F.A.A.O

Dr. Doris WongDr. Wong earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977 at San Francisco State University and her Doctor of Optometry in 1982 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. She entered the United States Air Force as an Optometry Health Professions Scholarship Program recipient. She deployed during Operation DESERT STORM and ENDURING FREEDOM. She provided eye care services to Alaskan natives during Joint Operation ARCTIC CARE and on humanitarian missions to Peru, Honduras and Southeast Asia. In 2009, she also volunteered her eyecare services to the Lions Club in Colima, Mexico.

Dr. Wong is an experienced clinician with a long history of fitting specialty contact lenses. In 1993, as Director, Contact Lens Specialty Clinic and Residency Training at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, she taught Optometry and Ophthalmology residents how manage post-op aphakic, refractive, keratoconic, prosthetic, and other difficult to fit patients with contact lenses. She was also responsible for training Ophthalmology residents how to prescribe glasses as their Optics and Refraction Instructor. In 1994 the Air Force also certified her to manage pre and post-op refractive surgery patients. Dr. Wong has managed numerous fourth year Optometry students during their clinical rotations in all areas of Optometry as an Adjunct Faculty member for the Southern College of Optometry, Tennessee, University of Houston College of Optometry, Texas and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry during her military career. She had seven tours of duty and served 28 years as a military Optometrist before retiring honorably July 2010 from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada.

Dr. Wong is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.  She has Life Membership with the Armed Forces Optometric Society, Air Force Association, Military Officers Association of America and Association of Military Surgeons of the United States. Dr. Wong is active with the American Optometric Association, Nevada Optometric Association, American Academy of Optometry, Las Vegas Summerlin Lions Club, Chinese Amercian Citizen Alliance, Asian American Group of Las Vegas, and Kiwanis Club of American Asians. During 2011-2012, Dr. Wong was honored as Professional Woman of the Year in Optometry by the National Association of Professional Women and also awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow for humanitarian services by the Las Vegas Summerlin Lions Club. During 2012-2013, Dr. Wong was recognized by the International Women's Leadership Association for her Leadership and by the Lions SightFirst Foundation for her outstanding contribution to the Lions' worldwide crusade against blindness.

James F. Williamson, O.D., F.A.A.O.

James F. Williamson, O.D., F.A.A.O.Dr. Williamson is from central Massachusetts. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1978 and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia in 1982. While attending Optometry school, he was accepted into the Air Force Optometry Health Professions Scholarship Program and immediately entered Active Duty as an Air Force optometrist upon graduation. Dr. Williamson was stationed in Tampa Florida, Wiesbaden Germany, San Antonio Texas, Washington D.C. and Las Vegas Nevada. He was Chief of Optometry Services at MacDill, Wiesbaden and Randolph Air Force Bases. In Washington D.C. he worked in the area of clinical performance improvement for the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs and Tricare Management Activity) and the Air Force Surgeons General Office. During his last tour of duty at Nellis he deployed twice to Afghanistan. He retired honorably from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada in July 2010 after 28 years of military service.

Dr. Williamson’s main areas of interest include ocular disease, specialty contact lenses and refractive surgery. Dr. Williamson possesses a wide range of clinical experience in contact lenses from fitting babies and adults who've had cataract surgery to fitting patients with irregular corneas for problems such as keratoconus. He managed pre and post-op LASIK (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) and PRK (Photorefractive keratectomy) patients in the Air Force Corneal Refractive Surgery Program since its inception in 1994. While stationed in San Antonio, Dr Williamson served as an Adjunct Faculty member of the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis Tennessee and University of Houston College of Optometry in Texas for students doing rotations through his clinic. 

Dr. Williamson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.  He is also an active member of the American Optometric Association, Nevada Optometric Association and Las Vegas Summerlin Lions Club.
